Early Brendan recordings with The Mekons, Sally Timms

Music made by Brendan Croker and Guy Fletcher
in 1988 for Granada Television Series "On The Big Hill"

"In February 1988, 36 soldiers, sailors, airman and marines set out to conquer Mount Everest by a route never successfully completed by the British.
A four-man Granada film crew joined the expedition on their Spring assault on the highest mountain in the world.
They set out to document the lows as well as the highs, the misery as well the elation.
The results of their efforts tell the story of a group of people and the challenges they faced. "On the big hill" is about men climbing the mountain rather than mountain being conquered".
On the big hill is a documentary about alpinism that takes place in Everest.
It was directed by Mark Anderson in 1988 and produced by Granada Television.
It features Dave Nicholls, Merv Middleton, Dougie Keelan and Laurie Skuodas.
